First Visit

Upon your first initial visit here at Metro Smiles, please prepare to be here for up to an hour and a half as you are being established as a new patient into our practice and your x-rays and records will be created. During your first visit we will take a complete set of your full mouth X-rays, which is needed once every 3-5 years, and do a very thorough comprehensive exam. Our hygienist will Perio Chart (probe) all adult patients gums to conclude which dental cleaning is needed for your teeth and gums, and Dr. Patel will examine every tooth and areas of concern that you may have. Upon the dental diagnosis, Dr. Patel and the assistants will educate you on the findings and what is needed to treat your areas of concern. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have because we are here to help you understand what you need, why you need it, and what may happen if it is not treated. We're not just here to fix the problem, we want to maintain your oral health and prevent future dental issues. We will teach you about all of the options you have and what you feel is the best and most comfortable for you.

After meeting with Dr. Patel, you will be presented with a Proposed Treatment Plan laying out what is needed to gain your mouth back to a healthy state. It will be compiled of appointment phases in which is best recommended to do addressing your highest area of concern first. The Proposed Treatment Plan will show your procedure fees, and estimated insurance coverage if you have any, as well as any discounts that may apply. After you have been presented your treatment you are able to meet with our financial coordinator to better assist you in coverage for your estimated co-pays. At this time you may go over any financial questions you may have including payment plans and/or applying for our 12-24 month interest-free health plan Care Credit.

Our patients are encouraged to start treatment the same day as long as the scheduled time allows for it. If not, we will be more than happy to schedule you for our very next available appointment. If time allows on our hygiene schedule, you may be able to be seen for your dental cleaning...but normally on first visits cleanings will be re-scheduled to assure the proper time for the cleaning you are diagnosed with is available. We value each and every one of our patient's and want to assure the proper time and care goes into each and every appointment.
